The Official Bryan Talbot fanpage

What's new on the Bryan Talbot fanpage

I cannot quite believe this - but 2007 is the eleventh year that I have been running this site! It's still an honour and privilege to be considered as the Official Bryan Talbot fanpage you know.

I have also found the newsgroup posting through Google that showed when I launched the site - in 1996! (by the way - that's an old address for the site in the posting that no longer works, - neither does that email address.)

As has become traditional here on the Bryan Talbot fanpage, I have created a new "what's new" page for the New Year of 2007. All of the old what's new pages are still online, as I hate to ever delete content, and I always think they give people a fun non-linear way to browse through the site.

So - you can check out what was new in 2006, what was new in 2005, what was new in 2004, what was new in 2003, what was new in 2002, what was new in 2001, what was new in 2000, what was new in 1999, and what was new up to 1998.

Thursday December 20th 2007

I placed online the whole of the first chapter of the Heart of Empire CD-Rom today; explaining exactly what this is can be difficult at times and so I decided on a "show, don't tell" approach. Bryan and myself worked on this CD-Rom for over 18 months and it is a total labour of love!

Also added a new interview link to the interviews page and also updated the news page with news of some talks Bryan is giving in 2008.

Wednesday December 12th 2007
Added two new pages to the artwork sale page in the online shop; page 12 and page 56 original art of the Adventures of Luther Arkwright are for sale from this very site!

Friday December 7th 2007
Added the very first Adventures of Luther Arkwright original artwork into the online shop; also updated the news page and the homepage of the whole site.

Sunday November 18th 2007
Added a link on the news page to the Whatever Comics questionnaire with Bryan.

Friday November 16th 2007
Added the Art of Bryan Talbot press release to the articles section and also updated the news page accordingly.

Monday November 12th 2007
Updated the Alice in Sunderland homepage and the news page with news about the second reprinting of Alice selling out already!

Friday November 9th 2007
Updated the news page with info about the upcoming release of Bryan's new book, The Art of Bryan Talbot; also created a new thumbnail gallery - number 19! - and added the front cover picture from the Art of Bryan Talbot into it. As there is now a new thumbnail gallery, I had to update the text based guide to every image on the site on one page, and also the slightly more verbose text gallery guide 6. Also added news of the Alice in Sunderland December signing tour to the Alice in Sunderland homepage and to the news page.

Sunday November 4th 2007
Had a huge cleanup of the site; first of all tidied up the online shop as well as the Bryan Talbot original artwork page; also cast a beady eye over the Papist Affair online comic (which still had download times for 28.8k modems on there!) and also started to apply some long overdue formatting to the site, mostly including changing the standard font from horrible to read on-screen Times, to clean, cool Arial.

Saturday October 27th
I just got sent the first page of a new comic called Borderliners: Ceremony Of Innocence by a fellow fan named Brian Gorman. He has drawn the front page of the comic in conscious homage of the first page of the Adventures of Luther Arkwright. I added it into the fan art gallery for your viewing pleasure! I also updated text gallery five and the complete image navigator page.

Wednesday October 24th 2007
Updated the news page with a link to the podcast interview with Bryan over at the Inkstuds site.

Sunday October 14th 2007
Bryan told me about an amazing review of the Adventures of Luther Arkwright, and so I went and added it to the Luther Arkwright homepage... - but to save you scanning through a long page and trying to work out what on Earth is new there I will link to it here to save you the grief! - you must go and read Treasures of the Old School: "Luther Arkwright: The Equilibrium of Parallel Worlds" by John R Fulltz, over at the Comicon site - he really gets Arkwright and why everyone who likes comics ought to read it. Go on; go check it out - we'll still be here when you've finished and he links back to this site at the bottom of the article anyway.

Monday October 8th 2007

Sunday May 13th 2007
Added the news to the Alice in Sunderland homepage and the main site news page that the first printing of Alice in Sunderland has sold out!

Added info on the Alice in Sunderland signing sessions in America to the Alice in Sunderland homepage.

Wednesday March 7th 2007
Added links to a couple of interviews Bryan has just done to start publicising Alice onto the Alice in Sunderland homepage - and also updated the interview homepage too.

Sunday March 4th 2007
Updated the news page with info about Bryan's appearance at the Bath Literature Festival next week, and also updated the Alice in Sunderland homepage with more info about the Alice signing tour.

Saturday January 27th 2007
Updated the news page with the info about the forthcoming Cherubs miniseries, and also added a mockup of the front cover to the comic in gallery 18; also updated the image navigator page and the text gallery page.

Sunday January 21st 2007
Added a new link onto the links page to the Amateur Comics Guild, and added to the news page the info about Bryan's forthcoming work for 2000ad and the Page 45 signing session in April.

Also updated the news page with news on the exhibition of artwork from Alice in Sunderland at the Northern Gallery of Contemporary Art in Sunderland.

Sunday 7th January 2007
Added the press release for the Naked Artist book; also added the front cover image to gallery 18 - and therefore updated the image guide page and the text based gallery page. (for anyone new to the site, the image guide page contains a link to every single image on the site on a single page and the text gallery is a quick loading text based guide to all of the image galleries on the site.) I also updated the articles homepage too. This is what happens when you decide to do a site right; you have to update multiple listings of pages so that people can look up what is on your site in whatever way is intuitive to them!

Monday 1st January 2007
Created this new what's new page and archived off the old what was new on the Bryan Talbot fanpage in 2006 page. Also updated the news page with details of Bryan's attendance at the Angouleme Comic Festival from 25 to 28 January.
