The Cannabis Conspiracy

The Cannabis Conspiracy is a wonderful comic by Bryan Talbot where he underlines the real reasons that cannabis is illegal..

Update: (Thursday March 18th) I wasn't able to upload the new panels yesterday as promised as I had a MOTHER of a computer crash! After a day of patient work I am now back online and able to edit images / create webpages / upload them. And I wasn't too worried as I had a good backup made last week. (this is a serious lesson: always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS make backups).

Anyway: in the interim someone chatted to me on Twitter - via the Bryan Talbot twitter account of course - and said that she loved Bryan's art, but that presenting the comic in panel by panel format made it harder to read, not easier. Now: I am the webmaster for Bryan's official fanpage: that makes it Officially Impossible for me to stand back and look at Bryan's work like a normal fan or website visitor would: by definition - I know Bryan's work intimately and I can therefore never look at anything of his as if for the first time. So: as a result I thought I would follow the advice given and put the Cannabis Conspiracy online in single pages rather than individual panels.

What do you think? - is it any better? - please let me know: join the Bryan Talbot Facebook group to talk about it or follow Bryan Talbot on Twitter.

Tuesday March 16th 2010: The comic is online in panels: see panel 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ... - or just click on the panel 1 image here and start the sequence.

Panels 1 to 8 are the first of the printed pages of this comic: check back here tomorrow (that is Wednesday March 17th 2010) for the next 9 panels which equate to page 2 of the printed version.

If you liked this then also see Bryan's other work - particularly the Adventures of Luther Arkwright (which some say is the first every graphic novel) or Grandville - an anthropomorphic, steampunk detective-thriller!
