Nathaniel Cromwell is the direct descendent of Oliver Cromwell and like his ancestors has been keeping secret the involvement of the Disrupters in the affairs of the Commonwealth. Nathaniel is weak willed and enjoys many of the vices that Puritanism forbids. He maintains a collection of pornography and alcohol, as well as keeping several prostitutes at his beck and call. These he has dressed as Roman Catholic nuns in fetishistic outfits and orders them to whip him. His worst secret is that he likes to deflower Roman Catholic virgins and afterwards murder them. Through all of this he feels deeply guilty about his desires, but cannot help himself.
